Dear all sorry about the delay in publishing, but the wifi connection at our new hotel was very poor. We played our last two games in Sri Lanka. The girls played the first game against the Central Province side. It was thrilling affair played in monsoon condtions. Over here they do not wimp out just because of a few puddles. Only the centre of the ptich was really playable, on the wings the ball got stuck in puddles!! Phoebe saved a penalty stroke in the first five minutes. The game was a topsey-turvey affiar. We eventually lost 3-2 when they scored from a short conrer in the last two minutes.
The rain had stopped when the boys played and the pitch began to dry out. The match was equally thrilling agianst the Central Province A side. The oppostion took the lead and for most of the game kept both our keepers very busy, who played supberbly. Our team played with guts and determination and the game was heading for a draw with two minutes left when oppostion scored from a short corner. At 1-2 the game looked dead and buried, but in the last two minutes we exerted a lot of pressure. Thereby earning a short corner. The ball was well worked till the final shot missed by millmetres on the far post!! Close but not close enough. Well done to the side on a great effort.
