A great day in lovely weather, though we did have to wait over two hours for us all to get lunch. The turtle hatchery was very interesting. The visit to the orphanage was very moving and though we are here to play hockey most felt that this was the best day. Both teams wanted to organise some charity events next term to help the orphange. After an early breakfast, we set out for our 12 hour Cultural marathon! En route to the Elephant Orphanage, stops were made at a Silk shop and a Spice Garden. Lunch was enjoyed overlooking the river where the elephants were bathing before we went to watch a traditional Dance show. The final visit of the day was to the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. We are looking forward to matches tomorrow and will keep you posted on the results!

A lazy and civilised morning around the pool in the tropical rain meant that the teams were well rested and prepared for the first round of matches. The girls played first against an U18 team from Kandy High School. We won 4-0 with goals from Matilda Lamberts (2), Rosie Brammer and Rachel Johnson.
