Final destination of the trip is Cairns. All a bit sad that our trip was coming to an end and goodbyes were getting close.
Cairns is very different to Melbourne & Sydney, no high rise buildings, lots of aboriginal people and both mountains and sea close by. First night was an early one for all after the Whitsunday adventure.
Next day we went on a snorkelling trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Another 6am start, but was well worth it. Weather was great, we just chilled on the boat and snorkelled all day. Got very sunburnt. Tonight was our last night out as an official group, a guy called Jamie and a girl called Becci did an awards ceremony which was hilarious. I got award for loveliest person (apparently!!). Then we went onto a bar which was...to be honest....quite grim. There were free nasty drinks for girls, a male stripper and a wet boxer shorts competition. Not my cup of tea at all!!
The last day of the trip was spent in a small town in the mountains called Kuranda, here we went to a koala sanctuary and walked around the markets in the town. Then we said all our bye byes to the tour guides.
The next few days spent in cairns were pretty chilled, our group were slowly dipsersing and flying off on different flights, but we all pretty much stuck together.
Last day in Cairns today, which was not so chilled as I did a 14,000 foot skydive over Cairns this morning. It was absolutely amazing. Far more fun than I ever imagined.
Tommorow I am flying to New Zealand for the next stage of my trip, yey!!
