Well the restful night paid off because I felt like a different person this morning, not 100%, but so so much better. Off to Milford Sound today. So excited about this now.
On the way there we stopped in Te-anau for lunch, then it was an amazing drive into Milford; huge mountains topped with snow and narrow waterfalls trickling down the sheer sides of the mountains. It was a steep descent into Milford.
This 'Sound' is actually a fjord caused by a glacier. We got a cruise through it which was amazing but a little eery as well. There were loads seals on the rocks.
Tonight we stayed nearby Milfford in an old miner's camp called Gunn's Camp. It consisted of little tin roofed huts with log burning stoves and fireplaces inside. It was very authetic and rustic and I really liked it here, very cute. It was so isolated that there was no reception, no internet, no power and a make shift boiler heated by a fire.
