Leg 5: race 7: day 30
Woke at 8.30 the wind had picked up so heeled over and going faster. Matt Carl and Caroline on deck. They only needed 3 on deck. Made a pot of coffee and some porridge. Bit overcast today and temperature had dropped.
We have been told our berthing time is 1pm (boat time 4pm) going to be doing last jobs on the boat today getting ready to get into Vietnam. I am so looking forward to getting ashore. So today is the last full day and night on the boat. Cleaned round the galley had lunch then went for a lie down from 1-5 stayed in bunk til 6 listening to music.
Cloudy and wet outside. Still warm though.
Heard that the garmin boat was being escorted out of Chinese waters by a Chinese war ship!!
Still can't believe we have been at sea for 30 days now!
The longer I have been on the boat the more comfortable I have become with its movements etc.
Had dinner up on deck at 7pm the wind had picked up so put in a reef and took Yankee down. Came below deck and cleared up. Sea is choppy and heading straight into wind so lots of slamming and bashing about. Took a kwells sea sickness tablet. This type of sailing I don't enjoy when the bow is bashing into the waves and it throws the boat around!!!
Had a packet of haribo's reminded me of buying sweets at home for Joey and Freya. Miss them so much bey they will have changed in the 3 months that I will have been away for. It's been 7 weeks so far 5 more to go.
Woke the next watch up at 10.30. Melody was in my bunk : sometimes we hot bunk so share bunks!!!
Went to bed at 11pm the last night on boat before Vietnam : yippee. Looking forward to spending some time on my own with Carl and having our own bed.
Miles covered 199 ; 3.7-12.1
