Woke at 9am had a coffee in our room and left at 10.15
The aim was to find a bar by 11am which was midnight at home in the uk so we could celebrate it drinking a glass of fizz or two.
But it was difficult finding a place open. As we walked along saw the sign saying 2016 so had our picture taken and sent it to the kids and posted on face book.
We walked along to Sydney bridge and had a lovely view of the opera house.
Found a champagne / oyster bar and had an amazing lunch.
Went to the opera house and booked tickets for Sunday
We then walked around the Royal botanic gardens and Hyde park then into darling harbour ended up walking 13 miles in all whilst stopping off at bars on the way.
Found a local noodle place in the evening
Such a brilliant New Year's Day : ticked so many boxes
