We woke up at 5am, our taxi arrived at 5.30am to take us to the airport. Our flight to Phu Quoc Island left on time (7.20am) and arrived 15 minutes early at 8.05am. We got a taxi to our reserved accommodation, the 'Beach Club Resort'. This was a resort right on the golden sanded beach with a beautiful sea view.
Because we arrived so early in the morning, our room was not ready so we waited at the beach bar/restaurant and had some breakfast. Jay had a pancake with mango, lemon juice and sugar. Helen saw the family who run the resort eating fresh noodles and spring rolls and requested this as it looked tasty. This dish was not on the menu but the resort owners agreed to make it for Helen and she enjoyed it.
One our room was ready, we had a shower and napped for a couple of hours as we were tired from the early start this morning. The room we stayed in was spacious, it had a table with chairs, big wardrobe and a spacious bathroom with a powerful hot shower. The bed had a mosquito net over it and it was the first time Helen slept under one.
When we got up from our nap, we relaxed by the beach, it was a beautiful hot sunny day. We did not do much apart from enjoying the weather. We also watched the sunset which was beautiful. Helen was hungry before Jay so she ordered spaghetti bolognaise which was ok but not the best.
In the evening after the beautiful sunset, we had a shower then Jay had his dinner. He had chicken in a claypot with rice. We had garlic bread to snack on which was one of the best garlic bread we have had, it was very 'garlicky'.
Later on at night, Helen felt sick and went back to the room to rest. Jay also had an early night as he was tired.
