Helen and Dean - Choice, Bro.
Hello again!
Its the day after St Patrick's and we're all feeling a little hung over at the mo. We're heading off in a while to go to Mount Cook (biggest mountain in N Z!) I think we will only be walking around the bottom of it though.
We've been very busy climbing glaciers, exploring fiordland, and throwing ourselves off bridges (Dean and Amy did a bungy yesterday!). I would of done it too, but I had to take the pictures!
Thanks for all the birthday messages! What a lovely surprise! We went to the beach and had a birthday picnic with cake and stawberry champagne! We were the only people there too! A fabulous day was had by all!
After that we set off to Fox Glacier on the west cost of NZ. We took a guided climb for a day on the ice. It was really cool - the ice is an amazing blue colour, as are the glacial rivers that run through the mountains. It is very impressive!
We then did a massive all day drive down to Te Anau (stopping along the way to check out the waterfalls and mountains views). Then we went to Milford to go on a boat cruise on Milford Sound. The landscape is very dramatic along here - huge, steep glacial mountains which rise straight out of the sea. Pretty amazing stuff.
Then we made a quick stop in Queenstown for a couple of days staying in a really nice hostel with beautiful views of the lakes and mountains which surround the town.
Thats all for now.
Take care,
Helen and Dean.
