We are still at the little hippy community of Ton Sai. We are enjoying it immensely and everything is so cheap. We get the feeling that we should move on though, so we are consulting the lonely planet guide and figuring out where the next port of call will be. We are looking at going into a big national park where there is wild elephants (and bears!?), to do some trekking before heading to an island, Ko Pha Ngan and then possibly head into the norther tropics of Thailand, Chian Mai maybe?? We are just about to hire a kayak again to go night paddling (and snorkelling), in the nearby waters which boast phosphourescent plankton (glowy thingys). We will probably paddle into a nearby beach community afterwards, for dinner (Ralay Beach). I went for a trek yesterday to some nearby beaches (Pra Nang) and caves. All i really found was lots and lots of tourists, so very quickly scurried back to our hippy beach community where Kerry was sprawled out reading a book on the beach. It only takes her about 90 minutes to read a book, so she has been swapping books with the local second hand book shop. Our resort (if you can call it that) complex was pillaged by local monkeys yesterday. We woke to very loud banging on the tin roof, to look out and find about 20 monkeys getting stuck into our outdoor rubbish bins and playing with our wet clothes that were drying outside. I was fascinated, and have far too many photos and video footage to prove it, but the resort owners came running quickly with sling shots and were firing rocks at the monkeys. They know they are not supposed to be in the resort, so they scampered very quickly when they saw the rocks start coming. Thats probably about it for now, will post more news and photos in a few days. Heath
