Our last stop, Paris!! I can't believe that it has gone by this fast and this trip is coming to an end today! It is so surreal! Paris was an adventure and has been a place that I have always wanted to visit. After taking French for so many years, it was nice to finally use some of it and it definitely came in handy! Paris was a beautiful city and we saw all of the beautiful sites like the Eiffel tower, Arch de Triumph, made a couple stops at Lauderie- the best sweets place in the world- SO CLASSY ! We even hit it up again in the AIRPORT leaving Paris, it was so cool. Even got a back to frame as a souvenir. We ate a lot of crepes, croissants, and cheese. We even grabbed some baguettes from the local market along with some bri and sat on the grass by the Eiffel tower- it was probably one of my favorite moments. Until I then started to become very disoriented and dizzy!! Paris was very hot, and we weren't expecting it to be. I don't think anyone was, and I had been drinking and eating so I was freaking because I didn't know what was wrong with me! I couldn't stay there any longer because it was just getting worse- Holly darted for the local convienient store and bought me a 1.5L bottle of water to gulp down. So then the girls hailed us a cab back to where we were staying. Taxi total= 12 Euro. The taxi ride was quite nice actually, a little mary kate and Ashley movie taking a cab through the heart of paris! Anyhow, when we got back to where we were staying we moved our bri and baguettes to the room, and I tried to drink lots of water and rest. I wasn't getting any better so I decided that I should go to the hospital. Which in itself was so scary, being in a different country, going to a hospital. I freaked myself out which did not help the situation. Poor alex was right there with me as im balling to her not to leave me. She of course didn't the entire time… Until later on when I had to get my vitals taken. She tried so hard to come with me though it was hilarious, saying how she took French in highschool. The closest hospital was also the OLDEST hospital in Paris and it definitely looked like it. Taxi total= 26 Euro. Lets just say that if a hospital in the states looked like that, it would be condemned. No SOAP IN THE BATHROOMS!! The people there however were very nice. I saw a nurse right away, who took my sugar levels, BP, and temperature all in which were normal. Then it was time to wait in the actual waiting room- and let me tell you… it was a wait and an experience. The people who were there in the waiting room were quite interesting, all the while alex and I are in there, im drinking down litres of water and peeing every 2 seconds, while the woman across from us has her head bandaged up and blood all over her, but still managed to go grab a smoke and eventually leave, because the wait was SO LONG. We waited there for four or so hours.. and after litres of water I was feeling better and my vitals were normal, so I decided to leave! Didn't even see a doctor after all of that. We saw everything that we wanted to see though, so we didn't miss a thing! I grabbed a burger and fries on the way home from the hospital and rested for the evening. Our last day, today was spent at the lock bridge. We locked our backpack locks on the bridge and said goodbye to our 23 days across Europe! It was a perfect ending to the trip! And of course.. I was still not 100% better and a little light headed, so we took a taxi there and back. Taxi total- 40 Euro. Paris was a great ending to an amazing trip! I honestly couldn't have had better timing with falling ill, and so surprised nothing happened to any of us, or got sick this entire trip until now! We are so ready for Cork and clean clothes!
Until Next time,
Cheers!
