Well Prague is over now and we are headed on the train for Split, Croatia! We have a two train changes and will be there by April 10th at 7am (I am writing this now on the 9th). Prague was gorgeous and I am so happy that we were able to get to be there. We made it safely and it was a short train in our standards now! When we got off the train we headed for our hostel, which took a little while to find even though we passed it a bunch of times. There was a really small sign outside and it was in a tourist office building. But when asking for directions all of the Czechs thought we were saying castle- and well we wanted to see that too but we wanted the hostel! When we found it we went in an dropped off our bags, or atleast we wanted to but we were early. The guys as reception let us check in early and were so nice. We had our own triple room and it was so clean and nice along with the bathroom- with a shower!! The hostel provided a lot of free complimentarie from coffee and tea to free tours around the city! We dropped off our bags and headed to see the sights- our hostel was located basically right at the end of Charles bridge! We grabbed some amazing bubble tea and walked around Prague. Seeing the bridge, castel, cathedral, astronomical clock, and of course the John Lennon wall. There were a lot of fair like stands set up all over the city especially is old town. It was beautiful. We grabbed dinner at one of the stands- "Bombardino" and it was delicious. All sorts of potato kind of hot salads I guess would be the best way to describe. They were soooo good and very filling. We also couldn't help but try the trdelkin when is a hallow dough cooked over coals and covered in sugar and cinnamon- like a churro!! They were every where I'm the city an almost on every corner! Literally. In the evening we went on a free ghost your complimentary of the hostel in old town and it was so fun!! Al was a little scared but it was so fun I love that kind of stuff. The tour guide was sweet as well- she was from Georgia and met her husband in Czech had kids and has moved there- her accent was so odd!! But it was a great day, and we headed back to the hostel not too late and grabbed some hot chocolate and headed for the showers!!!! We were pretty stinky- and our feet needed it! The blisters on our feet are crazy but are finally getting better ;) just in time for the flip flops on the beaches!
I always new I wanted to see the world, but this has truly been an amazing experience and I'm so happy I'm doing it with my best fiends. I feel soo lucky and blessed and will remember all of this for the rest of my life. I've learned so much my only about different cultures but about myself. I have learned to be less type A and just enjoy life for what it is and to no always worry about the end. The most important things I've learned have not been when we had arrived at a destination, but the journey we had getting there.
Until next time,
Cheers!
:)
