Ubud Ubud is a centre for arts and crafts, it has many courses available on a daily basis from fruit carving, painting and yoga to woodcarving and silversmithing. Having previously completed a course in silver smithing in the uk I was particularly interested in this course. Ed didn't take much convincing either, it was also number 2 on trip advisor on things to do in ubud. We turned up at local house and were happy to see only two other tourists on the course....

We took advantage of the fact we weren't on an island anymore and limited to how far we could walk. We left at 8am and travelled to Lembar in Lombok, our day had just began we were taking the slow boat back to Bali and this would take us 5 hours. Our boat trip was plain sailing even though it took ages and there were no chairs to sit on, we found a bit of floor space in the shade and settled in for our long journey ahead. We made it to Bali by 6pm that night shattered but pleased to be Ubud ready for our next adventures......

We stepped of the boat and we were back on Gili Air it felt like we had come home. A few of the locals we had made friends with previously welcomed us off the boat saying welcome home friends it's good to see you again. It felt good to be back! We made our way back to our bungalow and were pleased to find it was vacant. Jade had by this time left and it seemed strange without having her there, however another English guy Russ had arrived whilst we had been away....

Leaving Gili Air was a hard decision but we knew that we needed some time on our own and away from the many beach parties.
