We took advantage of the fact we weren't on an island anymore and limited to how far we could walk. We spent ourfirst couple of days in ubud just walking around and taking in all that it had to offer. What an amazing place full of arts and crafts and things to see and do, we were excited about getting out and about.

Our first adventure was today 12th September we walked down to the monkey forest. I was a little nervous about going to see the monkeys as I had heard a few disturbing stories about them jumping on people and the fact that they can bite. So we made sure we carried very little, just the camera and a bottle of water in Ed's scuba bag.

As soon as we brought our tickets I was on edge... Normally I would be so excited about seeing monkeys however it just felt wrong. There were locals selling bananas to the tourist so they could feed the monkeys, how could this be? I had just read a sign saying don't carry food as the monkeys will smell it and take it from you. Well tourists will be tourist and we took two steps in and there was an abush of monkeys jumping on the backs of tourist who had stupidly brought bananas. They all started to scream honestly I don't understand some people what did they expect? I was then so scared to walk in that I hid behind ed for about 30 minutes not being able to relax. The monkeys were beautiful and I could spend all day watching them along as they don't jump on me. We spent 3 hours trying to distance ourselves from the tourists and just watch the monkeys, they were great to watch even though a little unpredictable.

As we walked out of the Forrest I was taking a picture of a cheeky little monkey eating some leaves when I notice another little monkey eyeing up Ed's bag on his back, before I could get the words out he was on Ed's back. (check out the photo) its ok he didn't bite and soon got bored and jumped off. This was after I tried to shu him off to which he replied by showing me all his teeth just as well Ed couldn't see this. It was very funny however I'm glad it wasn't me as I think I would have freaked out.
