Hired a rather large canoe from a chap on the beach and paddled our way around the Baia de Paraty, around and on to a number of the small islands. 4 hours with our canoe took us out on to the high seas which at times were a bit on the wavy side making paddling somewhat tricky. Found what may or may not have been a private beach (we were the only people on it) to have a bit of a rest, until we got pestered by sandflies and could take it no longer.
Back to Praia do Pontal for cod rolls and fruit juices.
Wandered around more of the cobbled streets doing a bit of souvenir shopping before returning to the hostel. In addition to the standard fair sampled a special Caipirinha with a different cachacha and passion fruit. The intention to go to a samba party was thwarted by a thunderstorm so played games with the Dutch couple instead.
