Awoke to find we were in luck with the Patagonian weather again - not a cloud in a bright blue sky. Rob's search for a waterproof was perhaps unnecessary after all. Walked north out of El Chalten on the Fitz Roy path, with great views of the valley to the north of El Chalten, then the Fitz Roy range itself. Stopped for lunch at Piedras Blancas, finding a warm rock on which to lounge and lap up the sun whilst looking out at the glacier. Walked back via Lago Capri for an even more amazing view of Cerro Fitz Roy and the surrounding landscape. All the way we kept our eyes peeled for the elusive deer (not many now apparently) that roams the national park but no luck. Other than condors which are two a penny in these parts our best wildlife spot was a 'four eyed frog'. After 24km in total (a tad less than our 28km of 2 days previously) we felt we had earned a proper Argentinian steak and some red wine ...which, naturally, was served out of a penguin jug.
