Awoke to find we were in luck with the Patagonian weather again - not a cloud in a bright blue sky. Rob's search for a waterproof was perhaps unnecessary after all. Awoke to something of a chill in the air and on looking at the surrounding mountains realised it had snowed overnight. It was devishly cold as we caught a boat across Lago Viedma for ice trekking on Glaciar Viedma. Walked from El Chalten to Laguna Torre through beautiful countryside, partly along the Rio Fitz Roy and past waterfalls and streams. Early bus from El Calafate to El Chalten, the Argentinian home of trekking and the gateway to the Los Glaciares National Park. Greeted by the amazing sight of the Fitz Roy range and the surrounding cloud encircled peaks.
