Wow! As we rounded a mountain bend on the bus from El Calafate to the Perito Moreno Glacier, the first sighting of the glacier was amazing. Travelling through predominantly green countryside, this rapidly changes with the white expanse of the glacier and the surrounding snowy mountains. The view becomes even more amazing the closer you get to the 60m tall glacier, coloured with a whole spectrum of different blues. Difficult to take your eyes off the glacier, with each thunderous cracking sound wondering which of the crevasses is widening and which big bit of ice will be the next to fall and cause a wave throughout the lake. Incredible. The most amazing natural sight of our trip so far.
