After stumbling off our night bus, had a 2 hour wait at Rio Gallegos bus terminal, which we spent chatting to a Danish pair. 4 hour bus to El Calafate through beautiful countryside with magnificent mountains and bright blue lakes, all the while keeping our eyes peeled for wildlife including the ostrich type birds, Andean deer, various birds of prey and Patagonian hares. Located our hostel in the peaceful outskirts of town, checked out the town and planned our upcoming adventures over a mate and later a Mendoza Malbec.
