Got the subte then dallied through the Palermo Viejo district, full of cafes and boutique shops. Lucky enough to get a pavement table at the highly rated and recommended La Cabrera Parilla restaurant. Our sirloin and 'bife lomo' steaks were incredible, and came with about 20 different little pots of sides, all of which went down rather nicely with the Malbec. Looked around a nearby market and watched an outdoor tango performance before walking back to Plaza Italia where we checked out the botanical gardens.
Donned our finest garments (some finer than others, with Rob's trekking trainers and patched up trousers making the grade) to see the Manon ballet at Teatro Colon. Despite being up in the cheap seats (7 storeys up), good view and very much enjoyed the performance and taking in the amazing theatre.
With our steak a distant memory, had pizza and went to bed.
