Phuket

Saturday 30th May

Me and gaz woke up early and got onto the coach with the rest of the team. I don't think there was one player who wasn't still drunk or hungover, which was slightly worrying but kind of summed up the whole weekend. We arrived to the pitch just in time for our first game and with most people having a bacon butty rather than warming up it wasn't all to promising! But we all managed to pull something together and we ended up drawing 0 0 with a team that I can't remember the name of, but wore red! Then for some reason a team called the flying frogs didn't turn up (no wonder, they were French) so we had a bye for our next game which meant that we sat around in the blistering heat till 3 o clock which in a way was nice so that we could all recover from the previous nights antics. So at 3 o clock we played the Bangkok bangers and we won, which was pretty good. I managed to set up a try and I thing mitch (the fly half) was still drunk and managed to miss the conversion in front of the posts!

Anyways after a day of rugby we headed back got cleaned up then headed out as a team all 50 of us. We went straight to a bar to watch the lions and the super 14 final and hold the court session. Me and all the other young guys got a bunch of fines notably slater had to do 4 tequila shots for bringing a girlfriend on tour and I had to do one for being better looking than joe. After all the rugby we went around Phuket tattooing up the place with our rub off wanderers tattoos and ended up in the strip below tiger bar. We had an pretty awesome evening and headed back to the hotel pretty late in a very very fast tuk tuk.

Sunday 31st May

I woke up early leaving gaz in bed, apparently he was seeing the physio about his back at 10 but that never actually happened. So I got on the coach and headed down to the pitch for our first game. When we got there the other team hadn't turned up so we got a bye. The 2nds were then a bit short of players so I played on the wing for them in their first game of the day. I managed to score a try from the halfway line which was pretty sweet, gareth would have been proud but he was still sleeping! We then lost that game in extra time which seemed to be a recurrence of the day. At lunchtime the 1sts played there only game of the day, I scored again but again we lost in extra time! We then headed back to the hotel and had a chilled afternoon recovering from the past few days, not many of the guys headed out that night but we went out for a few chilled ones at the ice bar haha.

Monday 1st June

After a nice long lie in me and gaz headed out for some lunch and pool at an English like pub called molly's after spending a couple of hours there we headed out to do some fake dvd/t shirt shopping. So after being led through a suit shop and through a secret door covered in fabric we were in a dvd/cd wonderland. Gareth went a bit crazy and bought 28!! Anyways it was a nice chilled afternoon followed by an evening of dvds and room service, what a way to recover from the weekend!

Tuesday 2nd June

After another massive lie in me and gaz spent most of the afternoon chilling by the pool, we then met up with the other guys and went for a really nice dinner at this place called orchid, we all had a few beers and good food. Me and paynel then went and played proper snooker on a full size table for an hour. I had a stormer and beat him 89 13 potting red and blacks all over the table!
