Sunday 23rd May
After a pretty amazing first night in the perhentian islands, we decided to take full advantage of the amazing sun, sand and sea and chilled on the beach all day. Me, gareth and marcus went on a bit of a hike to a big rock on a headland about a twenty minute rock walk/climb away which was fun. We then had a nice supper in the hotel and chilled out for the rest of the evening.
Monday 24th May
With it being another lovely day we chilled out on the beach again all day, although i couldn't do that much swimming as i had a bit of an ear infection which was annoying and slater had either swine flu or tonsilitis (dont worry he is ok) so he spent most of the day sleeping which was s*** for him. After a nice bbq at the hotel we headed out again, down to the beach to a bar called safety stop. We had an awesome evening which ended up in swimming in the sea which was amazing. All the phosphorus in the algae lit up whilxt you were swimming all around you, it was really cool so that kind of made my evening. Excluding the arguement that slater had with this crazy canadian girl (get out of my personal space girl) and meeting the guy that had owned the jungle bar.
Tuesday 25th May
Had another chilled out day on the beach which was nice, i ended up going sailing which turned out to be very sketchy as a storm came in whilst i was quite far out and 5 thunder bolts hit the water all around me, one of which was only about 20metres away, it was pretty crazy really but i survived and had a nice time sailing.
After our last bbq at the hostel a few of us went to the hostel bar, had some shisha, met a few guys going to leeds and a crazy old dutch guy who was really drunk and was trying to give me advice on life, haha, i think he was called derrick. But it turned out to be a good evening.
Wednesday 26th
As it was our last day on the perhentian islands we chilled out all morning and then got on our ferry back to the mainland at 4 o clock ish. There was some sad news as we left though that gilbert mark 2 (our rugby ball) had been lost as well as rupert (gareths ball) and PEGS (our aussie rules ball). So there was definately a ball stealer on the island!!
After our ferry ride we arrived in kuala besut where we chilled and had supper before getting on our coach back overnight to KL at 8 30pm.
Thailand
Thursday 27th
After our overnight coach we arrived in Kl at 4 30 in the morning (28 C) and chilled at the bus station until uncle andrew very kindly picked up me and will at 5 in the morning which i thought was a very good effort on his behalf! We then headed back to his place for a shower and some breakfast before heading over to the KL twin towers as we wanted to see them before we left KL. Perry and misha came which was nice and whilst andrew qued for tickets me and slates took them out for macdonalds breakfast and bought them a toy etc. that seemed to keep them happy! Afterwards we took the kids to the nearby playground and then headed home and chilled out before getting our flight to phuket at 3 50.
Our flight was awesome, it only had 20 people on it (yes i did count) 9 of them being our group! We then arrived in phuket and me and gaz headed over to the hotel where the team was staying to check in (Hyton leelavadee). The other guys stayed at a hostel just around the corner from our hotel.
Me and gaz chilled out for a bit and waited for the team to arrive. A couple of hours later a coach turned up with fifty drunk rugby lads on it, i met all of gareths friends (all 25 +) who were all really nice and we headed out straight away to hit up phuket wanderers style. It was a very interesting evening with a lot of free beer, a ping pong show and a few other things! But it ended up in me and gaz getting a rather large KFC for the walk home (the walk ended up in a tuk tuk).
Friday 29th
Me and gaz woke up late and headed over to the pitches where we watched the over 35s play, we did a little bit of training both on the rugby front and the drinking beer front. After the over 35s had played we headed back to the hotel via a gun club (as we didnt had a game that day) i shot 5 rounds of a .44 magnum (the most powerful handgun in the world) which was awesome! And i shot 5 rounds of a .223 rifle which apparently has the third fastest bullet speed of any gun in the world. Anyways it was an awesome afternoon especially as i had been dying to shoot guns since walcha.
For the evenings entertainment we all headed out as a team again, again it was a very interesting evening which finished off in tiger bar.
