Tuesday 9th June

We all woke up at a reasonable hour, got packed up and jumped in a cab to the ferry terminal where us and the rest of surrey were getting on ferries to either the mainland or Koh Tao. We were off to Koh Tao and luckily we had managed to book on the fast ferry which took an hour and a half. As soon as we got to Koh Tao we all got in the back of a very sketchy pickup truck and headed for the lotus resort where we would be staying for the next week or so.

After checking in I headed straight to the medical centre as my leg was really starting to hurt after burning it 6 days previously. I saw the doctor and he told me that most of my leg was infected and that I was going to have to spend 3 days in hospital. This came as a big shock as quite quickly bummed me out! I was then put on a drip and spent the rest of the afternoon/evening watching films in the Koh Tao medical centre. At one point I had 9 people in my room with me watching films so we made the most of the TV/DVD player!

Wednesday 10th

I left pretty early in order to catch the ferry to Koh Samui where I would spend my further 2 nights in hospital. I felt like a bit of an outcast on the ferry sitting there with a nurse and being on a drip! I then had to get in an ambulance at the other side, I think it was all slightly over the top but maybe I was more infected than I thought. I arrived at the hospital at midday and was quickly seen to by a surgeon who cleaned up all my wounds. I then spent the rest of the day chilling watching films and playing around with my electric bed.

Thursday 11th

Another day in hospital playing around with my electric bed and watching films.

Friday 12th

I managed to get out of hospital in the morning and headed back to Koh Tao for a well earned beer on the beach. I was on the ferry with a doctor who was called Pete Edwards, I had a good chat with him about Thailand etc. and he has been changing my dressing’s everyday for the past few days which is much better than having a nurse do it. After arriving in Koh Tao I had lunch at this little restaurant called Sariee on the beach. I then chilled out for the rest of the afternoon and had an early night.

Saturday 13th

After a nice long lie in and another chilled lunch and afternoon on the beach I definitely was feeling better. Me and slater managed to catch the lions game and a pint of Guinness at the same place, epic! We then headed out for a few beers/buckets down at lotus bar which ended up in a little incident involving some guy who looked like he was from gym class heroes!!

Sunday 14th

After a pretty late night we all woke up about 2 and chilled out for most of the afternoon/evening. We had supper at this really nice Mediterranean place which did awesome pizza, called Porto Bello and then had an early night. Paisnel managed to lock himself in the bathroom for a while and had to end up paying will to let him out!

Monday 15th

Left Koh Tao. Overnight coach to Bangkok!
