I had a stressful trip from Siem Reap, we got the bus which apparently arrived in Bangkok at 4pm. Vicki had kindly booked our bus from Bangkok to Phuket which left at 6pm. I wasnt sure if we'd have enough time as with any travel in Asia you should add on an extra hour (like Vicki Spencer time) haha. Anyway Sophie thought it would be ok so we went with it. The border crossing was simple at first, then as I got across the Thai border I couldn't see anyone from our bus and ended up doing a mini tour of Thaliands border. Wasnt impressed that no one waited and there were no people helping or saying where to go. I finally found where I needed to be and we waited ages, we knew we had limited time until we had to be in Bangkok so stressed a bit. Also we needed to get hold of Vicki to say we would be a bit late but obv there was no wifi on the bus and Three cleaverly have stopped my phone working. I somehow managed to get the number from an old facebook message and a girl let me use her phone. Vicki was able to make the bus people wait, after rushing through Koh San Road with backpacks we got to were the bus was... And shocker, it was late! So panic wasn't needed after all. The next bus bit was ok although we had heard about people having stuff stolen so we kept our bags close to us, I couldnt sleep anyway! The final bit of the trip was on a mini bus, after then insisting we needed to pay 250bht to get on it to go direct to Patong. We met Hayley, Jess and Laura so we all got accommodation together. That is when the madness started! Patong is mental, x rated Benidorm!!! Prostitutes everywhere, lady boys, gross old fat men and many ping pong shows. We did go to one on the first night.. Never again! All I can say is frogs, turtles, fish, darts, birds and more!!
The next few nights followed the same pattern of drunkeness (minus the ping pong show) we met some very interesting Aussies.. Enough to put you off oz men! Days were spent dying on the beach. And that was it! Next stop... Koh Phi Phi.. This was supposed to be the 'chill out' island!
