Ooops, I have been lazy and havent written on here for a while. I had a very short visit in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. I wish I could have had longer in Malaysia as its supposed to be amazing. We did the long trip from Koh Tao to KL. It started with a night boat to Surat Thani from Koh Tao..it was so uncomfy, we were cramped into this boat, with barely any room and pretty much a sheet to lay on. We did sleep but it was hard..woke up loads with back pain. We then got off the bus to a tuk tuk, which took us to an office to get the bus from..we were so tired and it was so early in the morning, why the bus couldnt come to the harbour I will never know. We waited around for about an hour then got on a mini bus, we were on this for a good 3 hours, then got stopped at a random place to get on a bus which would take us the rest of the way. No journey in Asia is easy, and this is why I have had so many modes of transport here!
The bus was freeeezing, everyone was totally wrapped up because the air con was on full blast but the driver refused to turn it off. We got to KL really late and made way for the hostel and went straight to bed. We hadn't eaten a proper meal for about a day as we were traveling for about 30 hours. We didnt do a lot in KL, we went to the Batu caves which were pretty cool. There was lots of religous things happening here when we were there and the statues etc were amazing. We went to the Patronas towers that night which were really cool to see. Inside they had gone sooo christmas crazy! I hadn't really seen any sign of christmas until then. It was very over the top but good! Some Indian family stopped us and insisted on the whole family having a pic with me, Jess and Hayley..it was very strange! The towers were really pretty at night, I wish I could have gone up them but they were closed for maintanence apparently. We had a yummy meal in China town and went to bed as I had the long bus ride to Singapore the next day. Luckily on the bus I met a girl from Auckland so we did the border crossing together. It was so easy compared to any other crossing but still... as usual, no one told us what to do. Singapore was very clean, and the border was like an airport check in thing. But it was good because it was easy. It was raining in Singapore, the WHOLE time I was there. I was only there about 24 hours. The girl I met came to the hostel with me, and the hostel was so so nice. clean, proper beds, proper showers, proper toilets..back packer luxary! We had a wonder and some food and thats about it. She was also going to the airport the next day so we went there together. Their 'tube' type system is amazing, so much better than London's. Its so obvious what to do/ where to go and so so clean. It didnt take long to get there. At the airport, I was so early but was able to check in anyway. We got some food, said out good byes and I wondered around the airport, which is amazing. There is so much to do there..a random cactus garden on one bit with a bar, places for massages..sleeping areas..I could go on! But it is pretty cool! I made way to my gate, and that is where you get scanned/ bags scanned etc. I was wondering why I hadn't done all that yet. I met 3 girls at the gate, and they were all sitting near me on the plane which was good. On the plane, I felt really really sad. I was gutted to leave Asia! I did shed a tear or 2 when I took off. It didnt take me long to get a gin on the go and some food then watched some films. I couldnt sleep which was v annoying, not even the wine and gin helped! The flight went quite fast though and I landed in Sydney 7 and a half hours later...
