I thought I'd write one blog for most of southern Thailand as I am now in my last place and I'm being lazy. After phi phi we got a boat to Krabi and headed straight to Railay beach. It was so nice there! Really peaceful in the day and you didn't get hassled in the day to buy stuff. Where we stayed was called Rapula and it was little double bungalows for 250 Baht each. The food there had been recommended by lots of people and in lonely planet so as ate there that night. I had curry, nann bread and rice. I asked for no spice but to Thais that means nothing so it blew my head off. Eating it was a struggle but the others enjoyed there's. That eve we didn't do a lot, just went to a bar then to bed. The girls had to do their visa run the next day so me and Vicki just went to the beach which was beautiful! There is a bar called 'the last bar' and girls get one free drink so being poor backpackers we made the most of it! There was a fire show that night which was amazing. The next few days followed suit, beach, dinner at sunset resort and the last bar.
Next stop was Samui. This is where we left Vicki as she was going back to Phuket. We waited for our mini bus for 3 hours.. Turns out we were forgotten so some man came and got us and took us to the bus. We were lucky it waited. After 2 hours we got to surat thani for lunch and conned into paying 200baht for a taxi to get us from the pier at Samui, load of rubbish!! He told us that there would be no taxis at the port but you never know what to believe and everyone else paid up. Of course.. At the pier there were tons of taxis!! At the accomodation it turned out I booked the hostel for 2 days later and it was full! We thought we'd be on the beach but luckily we found a nice hotel and 3 of us shared one room. Next day we could book into the hostel. That eve we chilled and played pool with a canadian guy. The next day Pedro, Ryan and Lawrence turned up. We all went out the next night as a group from the hostel and this continued for the rest of Samui Pretty much. Days were spent at Ark bar as you could use the sun lounger all day if you brought a drink. There was always good music and some legendary thai people walking around selling stuff. They were so friendly and nice! Each Wednesday they do a free BBQ which was amazing so I had 2 helpings! Got to make the most of free stuff!
We all got the boat to koh phagnan together but we were all dying on the boat due to buckets and green mango the night before! I was so excited for phagnan as it meant it was full moon time! Koh Phagnan deserves it's own blog!!
