Konnichiwa, so I finally arrived in Tokio, Japan!
The difference between China and Japan are striking, but I will go into this a bit later on.
Upon my transfer to the hotel the subway was absolutely crowded with people amongst whom lots of people wearing kimono`s or yukata`s. This was due to the summer festival, where everybody traditionally goes wearing these clothes to watch the fireworks: pretty cool!
As I arrived pretty late, so I missed the tour meeting and dinner with the group... Therefore I had dinner in a nice place close to the hotel (cold noodles, which were very good, and appropriate to the hot summer weather) and did some walking around, not much sightseeing of importance... I did however manage to see a fair amount of fireworks!
My room-mate is an old English guy from Indian origins (aged around 70, I guess). As the tour will be quite intensive, I am curious how he will cope with the activities and excursions...
Good night!
