I was up early doors again & got dropped off at Animal Kingdom. My first fast pass was the Kilimanjaro Safari. This had been recommended to go early to see more of the animals. This certainly proved to be the case. The journey through 'Africa' took you through the Savannah & the waterways. On this attraction I managed to catch all the major animals including the lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos & rhinos to name but a few. As this was an open air drive, the heat was making its presence felt. My next stop was the river Rapids. This has the necessary excitement, combined with getting wet to rejuvenate me. Not as wet as I got at universal but still good fun. My third stop in 'Asia' now took me on the Everest expedition. Cancelling my fast pass, I went in the single rider entrance & got straight on. The fact that there was a 5 year old girl behind me, meant that the ride cudn't be that bad! With one big drop it was a fast paced ride similar to thunder mountain.
I took the opportunity to walk the Gorilla Falls trail to see the gorillas obviously. Sadly the Tigers were hiding. A quick train ride took me behind the scenes to see where the animals were fed & spent the night. Not quite the wild animals I had come face to face with in Africa. I'm glad I didn't sneak up on the Zebras in Malawi when I was reminded their kick could break a lions jaw. The last attraction I went on was Dinosaur. A rapid ride back in time. You can't help feel that Disney is trying to get in on a bit of the Jurassic park action.
Upon my return to the villa the sun was still out therefore it was pool time for a few hours, we had a late lunch once again from Chic Fil A. We had talked about Disney Springs for tea but all but the most expensive restaurants were booked. So instead we chose to dine close to the mini golf. Now this wasn't just any mini golf! The original Pirates Cove I had been coming too as a small child & on every visit since. There is some talk of it being demolished by Disney along with the whole of the shopping complex. Let's hope that doesn't happen. Naturally I was the mini golf champion, but the bug result of the day was Charlotte beating Ryan & Sean to take 2nd! This fast food joint (Fuddruckers) we went too, the Silvers used to go to every Sunday in Greenville but it has now closed. My burger was delicious cooked medium rare at their suggestion. After dinner I was shattered from the day's activities & it was time for bed.
