After Phu Quoc we had to head back to Saigon for an evening and then got on a bus early the next morning to yet another beach town called Mui Ne. The Lonely Planet describes it as one of the best beaches in South East Asia so we thought we better have a look at it on the way up. Well we arrived and finally found a half decent room right on the beach after half an hour of searching.
We settled into our new digs and went out to see this magnificent beach. What a let down. It was actually one of the most horrible beaches we'd ever seen. Massive amount of rubbish strewn all the way up the shore. Extremely polluted water. It was truly awful. We couldn't figure out whether it was because we were in low season or what. The beach was extremely long but we walked along for at least 45 minutes and there was still rubbish as far as the eye could see! Perhaps we were still at the foul end but we didn't hang around to find out. The next morning we got up early and headed up into the hills of Dalat.
