MALAYSIA!!!!!! We have arrived in our 6th country & the first port of call is Penang, a small island around 2km west off the mainland. We are stopping in the capital, Georgetown, named after an English General in the 1700's. The first thing we noticed is the friendliness of the Malay's, very helpful & they also cook a mean curry!!!! We met a few people on the way over here, 2 lads from Gornal (as if) Rich & Phil, a couple from London way called Emily & Rodger, a scoucer called Aimee & a posh girl called Sarah. After about an hour we all finally find a place to stay. Then we decide to go out for a quick drink before we go back & kip as we are all knackered. Well....... a quick drink turns out to be a 'few', which then turns out to be an all out war of 'Who can get the most wasted'!!!!!!! Anyway, the night goes on & we watch Man Utd get their ass kicked by Man City, Phil get groped by 3 girls from Worcester, random Malay lads dancing like girls, Rich convinced he had fish in his curry (that we had about 2am, bit of a change from pizza at Romino's though....) & then finally both of us crashing out with curry stains all down our clothes!!!!!! A very messy night. Anyway, we managed to get Rich & Phil out of bed the following morning & went to the beach. We all went on the banana boat, got burnt & went back to our pad. Then everyone met on the night, along with 2 other random girls that the scoucer had met, & we all went for a curry that, strangely enough, we ate off banana leaves!!!! Please see photos....... The next day everyone went their separate ways, apart from us two & the couple, Emily & Rodger. We all went trekking up Penang Hill in the day which was a bit of a jaunt. Then on the night we went to the local food market & had a real nice seafood meal, top quality food for half the price!!!! Emily & Rodger have left us today, but we may meet back up with them in Oz as they will be there the same time as us. Also, I think we will be meeting up with the scouse in Langkawi as we are off there tomorrow to meet with Hannah's parents, which will be pretty cool to see a friendly face from back home!!!!
