Well, London SUCKED! It wasn't London's fault really but it was a bad few hours that we endured there.
First, as I was whinging about in my last post, the flight was not so comfortable. After 14 hours of that we dragged ourselves through customs, had some breakfast then went to check in for our flight to Rome. That is when disaster struck.
Ryanair - budget airline that makes jetstar and tiger seem like luxury totally SCREWED us. I ended up losing it at the supervisor, just like one of those loons you see on those airport shows. Now i know how those people feel.
We had to check in via web and had to be able to print our tickets. This had to be done 4 hours before departure. By the time we realised the Ryanair machines were not for that purpose (god knows what they WERE for) and we lined up and were told to use an internet kiosk (helpy helperton staff who could have done it for us but preferred not too apparently) we were running through the aiport and freaking out because the computers with printers were painfully slow. We were told there was a fee if we didnt print our boarding passess by 4 hours prior.
Thanks to a combination of having to get pounds to use the computer, the printer not working and airports sucking in general we checked in 20 seconds late. This meant the boarding passess wouldn't print. So we had to pay the fee. 40 pounds. EACH! That cost more than the original tickets.
After 14 hours in economy seats, crap internet computers and rude staff who just shrugged when you asked questions i CRACKED it. Lost my mind briefly. As you do. Didn't get us anywhere. Had to pay over $100 AUD to board a flight we paid for months ago. I would have paid more than that to fly with someone else just on principle but there were no other options.
We caught the plane which was about 30 degrees inside. It sucked. It was a huge waste of money for the sake of 20 seconds but what can you do (apart from a lot of yelling)? we wrote it off as a reason to pay more to fly with someone better next time and resolved to not let it ruin any more days of our holiday.
We did eventually make it to Rome, caught a bus into town that was cheap and fast and made it to our apartment which was nice. We had a great dinner next door (best carbonara ever!) and fell asleep pretty much straight after dinner.
Thankfully no more flights for a few days. Just touring, eating, drinking and sleeping in. And perving. People here are hot!

Jeremy Aren't Ryanair the crooks who were going to charge you for going to the loo?
