Slept in late and woke to a cooler morning with cloud cover. Beautiful sitting outside watching the catamarans get ready for the day below us. Oia is just the most beautiful place breakfast arrives on our patio about 10/30. Grant was up just before that. Eggs yogurt fruit salad bead basket French press coffee. Hot tea and ice bucket to make cold tea . All with this view. We laze around for several hours then start our walk to Amoundi Bay for lunch . I think it was about 30 min through the village till we started the stairs. It's getting hot!! We wind our way down ( 267 steps) a lot of steps. We saw the donkeys being put up on our way through Oia the hotel told us not to ride them cause of the in human treatment. We arrive at Dimitris Tavern at wrong time and have to wait for a table. I am sweating profusely. The owner asked if I had walked from Fira. How embarrassing. All I know is that Grants legs were shaking too . Lunch was spectacular. Fried tomatoes ( Santorini specialty) grilled octopus, prawns and I got to pick out a one kilo grouper to be grilled and filet. Oh my oh my heaven!! We tried the donkey beers... Red, yellow and crazy ( tag line needed).Dimitris called a taxi . We waited and waited ( also watched catamaran after catamaran pull up and change customers ) Rick finally walked back to Dimitris. . We had been waiting in the wrong place. Glad to be brought back to hotel and short walk down the stairs to our room. Walked down to the little market and was able to get Santorini wine for the net two nights. They also had Santorini olives that we shared during sunset. Bought a few food souvenirs. Back to room to cool off and wait for sunset time on the patio . Absolutely glorious again. Not as hazy today and we enjoyed ourselves emensely . We already know it's a long walk to dinner we slow our pace to not be a sweaty when we arrive. Cute tavern off The main street , Kyprida, and I found it with out getting lost. Hotel recommendation . Upstairs terrace. Large menu mostly traditional Greek ordered Tomato balls, Fava as apps. The waiter encouraged me to order Moussaka. I agreed but don't think I like it very much...well I must have not had it at the right places. This was delicious !! Rick has chicken Souvlaki and Grant had the best roasted lamb with onion potato and carrots tomatoes. I look up while eating and through the open roof I can see the lunar eclipse starting. As we finished dinner we watched it become full to a blood moon. Longest eclipse in a century. When I finally went to bed it was still full. .
