Very pleasant morning strolling and sitting on the promenade with a trip to the Hotel Negresco. Very glamorous but a bit stuffy!! Transferred to the beautiful Azamara Quest with no problem and booked for the speciality dining room for M's birthday tonight. Sun shining, birds singing. Sitting on our balcony with a glass of champagne, surrounded by wonderful yatchs and all the beautiful people!! Aren't we lucky people??

Super day starting with exceptional breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea. No wonder its called the Cote d'Azure! The colours are amazing! Lovely walk through Nice, a quick look round La Fayette then to a lovely food and produce market. Had lunch of grilled sardines then after a paddle in the sea we caught a hop on sightseeing bus with a good commentary. Got off to see a really good Matisse exhibition at his old villa. Ian M and H had a swim then dinner...

Excellent, fast, smooth and comfortable journey on Eurostar. Ian had his little penknife confiscated as it had a looking blade. He wasn't pleased but it would have cost £18 to send it home!! Enjoyed the journey to Paris where it became slightly hairy as a combination of people taking an age to get off the train and the usual Parisian traffic meant we thought we would miss the TGV!!
