Today we've been to Palo Duro Canyon which is a state park 30ish miles south of Amarillo.
We enjoyed a leisurely trail ride through the canyon on Chester, Hoots and Festas before having a picnic under a bit of shelter.
A small hike followed but temperatures being high and Imogen's fear that a rattlesnake may attack her from any angle made us turn around early for a much deserved cool of in the car air conditioning.
Tonight we treated ourselves to a fab Mexican meal and we're all stuffed! Portion sizes in Texas really at massive!
Tomorrow we head to the midpoint of Route 66 and into New Mexico - it's just going to get hotter...
