Using the transit system at midnight was always quite a worry so when this guy got on all covered in blood glances between other passengers were funny to watch - you see, it was only those of us sitting close that could see it was fake blood!

A harbour lights clipper tour rounded off our very long day quite nicely. The views of New York at night were pretty spectacular as was sailing up to the Statue of Liberty whilst she was lit up. Unfortunately the wind was pretty non existent so the captain wasn't able to totally cut the engine.

The Bodies Exhibition was something else and there were cries of "eeww" and "ugh" from the daughter on realisation that the exhibits were actually real. Walking around Ground Zero and visiting 911 Memorial was quite spine chilling to say the least. There were moving tributes and individual stories. Imogen asked lots of questions which neither of us could really answer. I still can't quite believe that it actually happened and to be here where it did happen is quite humbling.
