Day 38 Mon 1st May - Up at 5.15am and now at the airport for my 14.5 hour flight to New Zealand. Although it is a morning flight, due to the date line and time difference we wont arrive until 4pm tomorrow 2nd. We are following the sun so it will be daylight continuously until we get there, but Im sure Ill catch up on some sleep on the way. Talk to you when I arrive in NZ xx

Day 37 Sunday 30th April Travelled back from Santa Cruz in the morning, so did another city tour before the flight at 22.30 to NZ. Had lunch in the local fish market where everything was so fresh and tasted wonderful, went to a museam of local Indian culture, which had a huge map of Chile laidout on a table and it visually showed the long thin shape of Chile 5,000km long and only 100km wide in places. Day 36 Sat 29th April - Lay in until 8am before full day wine tour to 1. Vina Bisquertt, 2. Horse drawn tour of Viu Manent tasting wines directly from the barrel, lunch then 3. The most beautiful winery I have ever been to at Montes....see pics, they have spent $7.5m on creating a Feng Shui building for making their wines, with a tasting gallery overlooking the mountains and classical music in their barrel store, it is amazing and the wines were fab too. Day 35 Fri 28th April Up at 7.30 for transfer from Santiago to Santa Cruz deep in the heart of wine country. After 3 hours arrived in the small town and my hotel has a balcony overlooking the main square, which has a fountain and very tall palm trees. Reading through the menu for lunch it said my pizza contained ''a small palm tree'', but it washed down well with half a bottle of local red. Day 34 Thurs 27th April Up at 7.30 leaving the sun of Santiago to travel to the port of Valpariso, with its multicoloured houses, the guide said they were that way as they used the left over paints from the ships there were being painted, so they were always multicoloured!
