Graeme round the world
Day 34 Thurs 27th April Up at 7.30 leaving the sun of Santiago to travel to the port of Valpariso, with its multicoloured houses, the guide said they were that way as they used the left over paints from the ships there were being painted, so they were always multicoloured! It was freezing there and had to but a Chilean footie shirt plus a very dodgy Chilean jumper, which I swiftly left in the hotel on purpose :o) The highlight was seeing one of the 6 of the Easter Island heads, which have been removed from the original 900 still on the Island, so was really pleased about that as it takes 5 hours to get there if you want to visit the island and over $1k. The best bit of the day was a fantastic ''romantic'' meal for one on the 21st floor of the hotel with jazz and champagne with an amazing view of the city :o)
