We've been with Auntie Gemma and Uncle Mark for a few days now and we're having such a wonderful time. Their house is amazing, with a really beautiful garden and the children are enjoying spotting wildlife and playing with their new puppy.
A highlight for Elisha was finding a tiny gecko in the bathroom, whilst William has most enjoyed playing in their sprinkler and going to a big rugby match with Daddy and Uncle Mark. They were also pretty excited to see the green swimming pools (Mark tells us that the entire maintenence staff at the school got food poisoning so there is no one to clean it).
We also found lots of interesting plants in Gemma and Mark's garden. The kids spent a long time collecting seed pods and fruits to cut open and inspect. They were particularly happy with a pod which looks like a giant hard pea pod but actually contains some kind of chestnut.
They're also really excited to be learning about all the different types of birds from Uncle Mark.
We went to a dairy farm to buy milk, and it had a lovely little farm shop, as well as climbing frames and sand pits and a great cafe. The fun thing we've discovered is that a lot of people eat a fairly similar ketogenic diet to us over here, so when we go out we can ask for a 'banting' menu and they show us all the low carb meals, including an italian restaurant that served us cauliflower based pizzas!
Today we will have Mark and Gem's extended family over for a BBQ to celebrate easter and then on monday we are going to a lion park. So fun!
