For our final day in South Africa, we went to Rosebank to see the 'The art of the brick' Lego exhibition. It was great and the kids loved it.

We spent the weekend in Haartbeespoort at the dam. It was absolutely beautiful with buck, monkeys and bush babies all just free ranging all over the place. There were supposed to be some tortoises too, but we only saw one whilst we were there. The kids found several parks to play in and there was a heated outdoor pool which they enjoyed too. We got up super early and drove out from the dam to spend the day in pilanesberg. It was a really fun day out with granny. It's kind of disconcerting to be eating breakfast at a picnic bench in the middle of a game park where you know there are lions and rhinos, but the benches are all fenced in and the views are amazing. We got great views of: Dung beetles, Lions, Rhinos, Hippos, Wildebeest, Crocodiles, Wart hogs, Elephants, Giraffes, Kudu, Springbo...

Today we climbed "butterfly mountain" in Faerie Glen. Okay, so that's not its real name, but Mark couldn't remember what it was called so the kids renamed it. Butterfly mountain is an incredibly apt name though because there are the most ridiculous number of butterflies around there. We're leaving Pretoria today and heading back to Sandton. It's been a wonderful time and last night we were treated to a massive thunderstorm and a gecko in the bedroom (which I'll admit I found pretty exciting).
