We got up early this morning and headed out for another hike across the island towards Chauk bay for some more snorkelling. The plan was to go to Chauk bay then on to Freedom Beach and to avoid Shark Bay as apparently that's where the sharks hang out. Today we had a nice lie in then got up and headed for a street stall for some breakfast baguettes and pancakes mmmm. We then walked along to master divers and were told the sea was too rough for kayaks so we rented some snorkelling gear for a couple of days instead. We arrived in Koh Tao and got pushed off the ferry and up the pier, we barged through all the people trying to tell us to stay at their resort and onto the main strip. We walked towards Save Bungalows which Martin had recommended but it was either £6 a night with an outside toilet and shower or £11 a night with an inside toilet and shower. We left the guest house Monday evening in a tuk tuk which took us to the train station for our overnight journey back to Bangkok. We dived into the tuk tuk with our rucksacks crammed in beside us! Today we got picked up along with 12 other people from different locations and taken to a Thai cottage cooking school. When we arrived we got to pick 4 different dishes to cook and then got taken to a local market to get the ingredients. She gave us differing spices, fruit, vegetables and herbs to smell while we watched cockroaches jump in and out of the different jars of stuff and scurry around our feet.
