We got up on 17th September from our guest house in Vientaine, quickly got ready and headed down to settle our bill (£12 each for 2 night accommodation, laundry and bus tickets to Vang Vieng not bad). Well we arrived safely in Vientaine and after getting of the bus and grabbing our bags we were asked by a tuk tuk truck driver where we were going, we showed him the name of the guest house and he said he knew where it was. This was fantastic news as it meant that we had actually made it to the correct city. We agreed a price and he even said he would take us to an ATM to get Laos money out. So after following these guys to the bus, we were shoved on, oh after being told to get our shoes off before climbing on and given a smelly bag to put them in. I suppose it kept the floor clean. We left at around 8:30 Monday morning after grabbing breakfast in the hotel (an omelette again), and got on the coach for the 3 hour drive back to Hanoi. We then were escorted by Pooky our tour leader for a walk to the old quarters where we booked tickets for a water puppet show the next day. We were then left to explore. We first had lunch and then went for a wander, and looked at the lake, the palace in the middle of the lake, the opera house and the cathedral....
