We wanted an early start this morning but then realised we had to drop the key in (don't ask why we were given a key on a camp site) and we wanted our deposit of 10 dollars for it, every penny counts. We forgot to hand in the key the day before which Graeme thought I did on purpose so I didn't have to get up at 5! We still left reasonably early when reception opened at 8am. Started travelling to Tennant Creek, listening to the beautiful sounds of Celine Dion! Her music was growing on us as we kept recognising songs that both our mum's had played in our childhood. I did start to worry when Graeme started singing along to more than one song…was he a secret fan?? But then I did admit when me and Claire back in the day tried to impersonate Barbara Streisland and Celine in; 'Tell Him' hehe (sorry Claire secrets out!)
It was an interesting journey we saw a wild Emu, but then saw some wild fires, massive ones. The sun just disappeared with ash and cloud it was quite sad and scarey, but impressive to see wouldn't see that anywhere else. We headed to Tennant Creek… then left. There was nothing there so decided to carry on and get further north. After a few more hours driving we finally made it to a place called Daly Waters around 6ish. The campsite was in the middle of no where but was a real bargain, $14 for a pitch and you got a free drink each which was worth $10, so actually only paid $4 for the pitch. We pitched the tent and then went to the bar for our free drink and treated ourselves to dinner out, mmmmmmmm T-bone steak. After a couple of drinks, watching some TV in the bar and chatting to one of the locals about his bull riding days we decided to fight past all the frogs and toads on the way back to our tent and call it a night.

I love the croc ones and all the scenery, wildlife, bush fires and all the fun activities you have done made me think you could probably get a job working with David attenborurgh doing his nature programmes on TV !!!!!! it is lovely to hear all about your adventures. They are so amazing i imagine they far surpass what you had imagined or thought. It is good to hear you are finding bargains. That is a family trait.
