We set our alarm early to watch the sunrise, however when the alarm went off the sky was filled with clouds. So we had an extra little snooze. We woke a while later and jumped in the car for an early ride to Alice Springs to try and make a free Didgeridoo lesson at 2.30. The drive was fun and we saw a couple of Kangaroos jumping across the road and a mini twister close to the road. After a 5-hour drive we arrived at Stuart Caravan and Campsite Park in Alice Springs. We pitched up and then quickly popped into town to try catch the lesson. We had a quick wander around town then popped into the Didgeridoo lesson area, we grabbed a couple of Didgeridoo's and sat waiting for our instructor. He finally came out and we had a fun 30 minute lesson where we just seemed to play around with the Didgeridoo making farting noises and not really understanding a thing the guy was trying to tell us to do. The guy next to us seemed to be a pro which didn't make us feel much better and he claimed he had never played one before, yeh right, the instructor didn't even believe him. We left at the end and managed to get a couple of notes.

We then pottered around the town before heading back to the campsite to have another bbq, lamb and mint burgers with home made chips cooked on the bbq, never cooked chips on a bbq before but they tasted delicious. We then headed back into town to the place we had done the Didgeridoo lesson to watch "The Didgeridoo Show Outback". It was an amazing performance of a guy playing lots of different Didgeridoo's while telling aboriginal stories, he had a couple of guys supporting him on drums and there was lots of lights and photo slide show display. Was an impressive performance and well worth seeing. We then headed back to the campsite.

On Saturday (29/10/11) we arose and headed into town, after a couple of very long coffees in Mac Donald's while we did a couple of internet jobs. We then pottered round town for a bit and debated what Music CD to get for the car, finally after about an hour we got "The Essential Celine Dion". We then Headed to a place called the 'Desert Park'. This was a………….. Desert Park, where you walked round the desert and they had cornered off areas where you got to walk through a bird Avery, a aquarium area, a nocturnal animal house, a kangaroo area (where there was a kangaroo which stood up and was taller then us, glad he didn't decide to come over for a closer look at us), and a walk along side a Emu cage. We also got to see a cinema show of the formation of the Australian Desert and a Bird show. We headed to a free Mammal tour talk and when guy showed up it was only us two there so that was pretty good getting our own private tour. Afterwards we headed out towards the car and had to make sure we were both smiling lots as we had to cut across some people having there wedding photo's taking. Guess we probably made their photo's.

We then had a drive out into the desert to see some rock formations before heading back for pasta and egg again, wish we had had another bbq.
