The following day (Monday, 10/10/11) we went down to the bar for a free breakfast of toast, banana bread, fruit bread and Swiss role and filled our stomachs to bursting ready for the rest of the day. We then headed out and walked round for half an hour trying to find a bus to the Batu Caves, we finally found one after trying to get on around 10 others. We arrived at the Batu Caves Bus Stop 45 minutes later and wondered around the streets for a while until we finally found the caves. It was well worth travelling across KL for as there was a massive golden statue next to the steps leading up to the caves. We slowly climbed the stairs seeing loads of monkeys on the way and then got to the top and entered the cave, which is a temple. They was a massive opening inside with lots of shrines dotted around, the main one at the back had monkeys all over the place. Some were eating bits of coconut, others had their baby's strapped to their tummy's. Then one found a bottle of fizzy drink that someone had left behind. It grabbed it and ran up a frame, it then undid the lid in seconds and started drinking from it, very impressive. On the way down we so another one trying to break into a lighter and one trying to smash into a snow dome.
We then had a wonder around the stalls at the bottom for a while before finding a stall that served Durium fruit ice cream, so we tried some of that, which stank, hope your happy that that complete your request Aunty Mo. We then headed back on another bus towards China Town and grabbed some food in the local market, before relaxing with a foot reflexology and ear candle session.
On Tuesday (11/10/11) we arose and topped ourselves up again on free breakfast then headed to the city tour bus. We spent the day travelling around seeing the Royal Palace (where a group of Chinese women wanted a photo with Rachel, she is pretty hot after all), the National History Museum, National Monument, Deer Park, Orchard Garden, City Square, a Church, etc, etc. We then got to the business district and stopped at the twin towers, which were amazing to see. Unfortunately we couldn't get up to the sky bridge as it was closed until December, but we went inside and Rachel got excited when there was a shopping centre in the middle of the two towers. We then arrived at the KL Tower, which is the forth-largest viewing tower (first being in Canada, which Graeme visited last year). We went up and got some fantastic views of the city and were just in time for sunset, perfect.
We then got back on the bus and headed back towards china town, however there was a stop by somewhere with lots of lights and stuff going on so we jumped off there to explore, after all we were pretty close to china town so we could walk back as the buses had nearly finished………ooops after checking the map we were actually a very long way away. We had a quick browse around then the bus after ours came, which was the last one. We then headed to the Central Market again and grabbed a bit to eat before heading back.
