We got up, showered and fed and then did the final packing before heading to the car drop off location. After a quick check of the car they took us to the airport. We checked in and headed through security and both of us got randomly searched for explosives, I've lost count how many times this has happened now we must look dodgy. We then treated ourselfs to some tasty chocolates before exchanging the rest of our New Zealand Dollars for Fiji Dollars and pottering round the airport. We had final phone call from Nan to say bye for now and then boarded the plan. We got to see the film 'Jack and Jill' and got fed so we were happy. Three hours later we touched down in Fiji with no jet lag as the time zones the same as New Zealand. We made our way through security and grabbed our bags and headed out. As soon as we got through the security doors we saw a guy holding a sign with Arden on it so we headed over to him and he gave us a lift to our hotel in Nadi. When we arrived the driver pulled into the back way and the place looked like a building site, thankfully inside was better.
After checking in, we relaxed in the room for a while then headed out to the streets to get some water and have a look around. Most of the shops were closed due to the flooding, but there was one with a guy greeting us in Fiji style 'BULA'. He invited us in and we had a Kava ceremony with him, sampling the local drink for the first time, supposedly it's supposed to heal a lot of things. We then bought a turtle necklace to support his local village and then headed back to the hotel. When we got back to the hotel we went to the tourist information desk (the check in desk) and after getting totally confused finally booked something. After a beer in the hotel bar we then headed out again and found a curry house for dinner before returning and crashing out for the night.
