The adventure begins.
The house exterior is being cladded and painted. The scaffolders were busy on my house and I'm leaving everyone to it - heading for Scandinavia.
Pee stop and walk for Sacha at the bicycle trail near Sourton on the edge of Dartmoor I had discovered it before and it is conveniently 80 miles from home.
Idea! Someone should write a book on convenient dog walks off main routes.
The weather is cloudy and trying to drizzle.
Using Britstop - this an arrangement where pubs have elected to let you stay overnight in their car park, I chose The Otter Inn at Colaton Raleigh a delightful village near Exmouth.
Took Sacha for a walk through the pretty village across some fields to the river Otter. Stopped on a stoney beach on a bend.
Walking back, a man started a conversation with me over a stone wall. Amazing fellow, who collects old cars, mostly Jaguars, and pilots his airplane. He has recently moved in to the village and is busy renovating his huge house.
Such a charming man, not at all snobby, just has a passion for the things he does.
Now I'm in the pub which has a pleasant buzz. I had the fish pie which was good and someone had recommended the local Otter beer which I tried but I prefer red wine or cider.
The photo is of Sacha ignoring me is she would rather stay at home as she doesn't like the van. She has a good time once we reach a destination.
