Earlier I did visit Scone (pronounced Scoon) Palacewhich was amazing.
Now back in England and feel quite sad to be leaving friendly efficient Scotland. Camped with another Britstop stop at a farm shop near Berwick upon Tweed.
In the morning drove into the town and walked around the ramparts.
Then onto Holy Island and luckily the tide was out so I could drive along the causeway. Many wild fowl. Surprisingly busy but then anywhere would be after the remote areas I had visited in Scotland. Walked up to the little castle that had once been the holiday home of Lutyens the architect.
Now I drove onto Wallsend which is aptly named as it is the eastern end of Hadrian's wall and there is a chunk of it to be seen.
Now it was not so pleasant as it was drizzling and there was one traffic jam after another.
Eventually reached Durham where i wanted to see the cathedral. No disappointment there it is a massive ornate beautiful cathedral.
Now in another of britstops pubs about 10 miles south of Durham. The landlady and staff are welcoming and friendly bit the meal I had was overpriced and greasy.
