Last night we were invited by the group of cyclists who come to the campsite most weekends. They invited us, that is Helen and Andrew the pilots, to see an 8 minute carton porn film. It was porn, but more funny than titillating. We were given gin and tonics and a dessert of chocolate and cream. Then they showed the film Gravity. I liked their style as they had a huge screen. We left as soon as we politely could.
Reluctantly left Mori serradell this morning. Paid €115 for 4 nights camping and for 3 huge meals and wine. Also a round local goat cheese and bread which kept me going for 4 breakfasts.
The owner also gave a calendar and the special bread they make on a Sunday which is delicious and has almonds on it.
Said good bye to Andrew and Helen who had recommend a campsite which I have chosen as my next destination. Andrew also fixed my squeaky brakes. The bike is just not the same since my accident.
I drove to Queralbs a very old little village- the church was 10thp century.
Took the train up to Nuria a very scenic route through gorges and by gushing waterfalls. Hikers were struggling on the rocky paths and I didn't envy them in the heat. At Nuria I took the cable car to the snow line which was melting fast in the heat. Also it was windy which rocked the cable car.
Then it was time to move on and I drove about 200 miles to south of Tarragona circuiting Barcelona. It was an excellent road so I made good time to reach the Cala d'Ogues campsite.
Chose a pitch under a pine tree right next to the beach. I was relieved to find that it wasn't too hot.
A fellow informed me that my back brake light wasn't working so shall have to fix that. Luckily I have already had a couple of offers to help. Campers are so practical. This now fixed by a an enthusiastic guy from Luxembourg. I have since learnt that you have to carry a spare set of bulbs by law in Spain.
Had a wonder along the beach towards the naturist camp nearby. Turned back before and on the way back met two English couples who invited me for a glass of wine. It would be rude to refuse. I had planned to keep a low profile after the last few days. They are good fun,so back to normal eating and drinking too much.
The next night I introduced them to a game of s***head which was hilarious and they are hooked on it.
This is such a pleasant campsite. The temperature is pleasant and actually much cooler than the mountains.
A couple of days later Andrew and Helen arrived so it was good to meet up with them again. We had a delicious meal at the campsite restaurant.
Tip of the day.
I bought some magnets and a fly screen that fixes across window or door
