Just got back to Airlie beach after sailing for 3 days around the Whitsundays! The islands are beautiful and the national park beaches are amazing, the clearest waters and finest white sand!
The first day we got to the boat it had been raining really heavily all morning, myself Stephie and Wendy had been camping for 5 days to save on money! And the day we decide to pack up the rain pelted down and didn't stop - our tent had already decided to break itself 3 times anyway and the heavy rain just finished off the job - so we binned that and got covered in mud in the process! Whilst I was sat in the shelter of the outdoor camping kitchen with Stephie, I looked around and on the floor was a massive snake! we we're crapping our selves then we got the camera out and started to take pictures and the camp maintenece guy said it was a Python and not poisonus and got his friend to come and pick it up - Steve Irwin Styliee and he put it in a pillow case and now I beleive he has it as a pet!? Why I dont know but hey!
So eventually the rain stopped and we walked to get on the boat loaded with Goon and other various cheap alcohol got on the Tarongarra to set off for 3 days! The first day we jus sailed to Hook Island and then had a BBQ and drank n had a laugh - not everyone was up for partying but Me n Stephie n Wendy were and a few other Germans - so all was fun!
Then the next day we sailed to the Whitehaven Whitsundays National Park and went bush walking to the Whitehaven beach where we had to take stinger suits to be able to swim in the sea! The beach was picture purfect - so amazing..... you have to see it! Then after this we headed back to the boat for lunch and then sailed off to a spot by the reef to snorkle - saw so many fish more than in Cairns these fish were not shy and swam along side you - was really cool! That night got a little drunk again, and by now I was really red - nevermind the bucket load of suncream I put on - the damm british skin just cant take the heat!
The last day we snorkled again and had lunch then headed back to Airlie beach for about 3pm the last day was so soooo hot Tom and I practically died, I stayed in the cabin as much as possible and helped cook lunch with Alex the Sidekick to the Skipper! Both guys were a good laugh - such Dirty b*****s but it reminded me of Mike and Ali so was having a giggle with them the whole 3 days! They asked me to stay on the boat for the next 3 days for free - but once we got back to Airlie Tom the Germans and I had decided it was time to leave Airlie and head to Friser Island for 4x4 safari - they better let me drive - Why do blokes seem to think girls cant drive!?
The last night in Airlie beach we all went out together for one last goodbye before we all head off in different directions - some how managed to get roped into a pole dancing competition which Wendy put my name down along with hers! so downed lots of vodka before that! Then after that myself Bastian, Sascha and Stephie's other german friend went skinny dipping in Airlie Lagoon - germans love getting naked - was so funny - the best end to a night I Think I've had in ages - walking back to the hostel dripping wet - haaaaaa brilliant!
Anyway off to get the coach down to Fraiser in a couple of hours - a 14hour drive! Yay...better charge my ipod!
Catch you later xx
