Thursday and friday we took a bus up to Cape Tribulation and took a river cruise of the Daintree river to try and see some crocks - didn't see anything but a tree snake, the rainforest is amazing though and the same as it was millions of years ago - so thats pretty cool! Then we treked around the rainroest on a boardwalk and liked green ants arses - it tasted really sour - dont know why we did that but hey?!?!?
Thursday night we stopped in the Cape and once we got to our hostel it we were so sticky and overheated from the humid tropical weather we had showers and headed down to Myall beach the main beach where the sea is jelly fish infested and the esturies are full of crocks so its best to stay clear of all water! we sat under the shade of a coconut palm and ended up falling asleep on what is the most amazing beach I have seen so far (i'm sure there will be plenty more to come!)
When the sun went down it was a bit cooler so after yet another cold shower we headed out into the pitch darkness to PK's jungle village for something to eat and beers! The road from our hostel to that hostel was pitch black and you could see so many stars and firefly bug things - There were lots of random lights - I was papping myself as Tom decided to wind me up about backpackers getting murderd and ghosts and things even though my ankle still hurt I grabbed Toms arm n practically made him sprint with me down to PK's!
On Friday we went to the lookout point where you could see the place Steve Irwin carried out his last documentary the one where the Sting Ray got him! then we went for a swim in a very cold gorge - it was so cold which was so good in that heat! The rain then poured on our way out of the rainforest towards Port Douglas - were we got some dinner! after that we headed back to Cairns and we're leaving here tomorrow for Airley Beach and the Whitsundays....and Work! YAY!!!
