Went to proserpine where we stayed in a working guest house every backpacker worked on the tomato farm in Bowen. we paid for 2 weeks rent upfront!

Picking was rubbish as it was the end of the season and being paid by the bucket wasn't good as there were slim pickings! Its hot, dusty, you get yellow, sunburnt and a bad back! Butwe have on the upside made loads of friends n having a good laugh with the other backpackers! Worked for 2 weeks and now a big group of us (mostly germans!) are off to sail the Whitsundays on thursday after the guys finish work! me n one of the german girls have come to Airlie beach to escape the crazy landlady Diana of the guest house and to work on our tans and drinking skills before heading out the the whitsundays by boat! Will be heading on to Friaser after that for 4x4 safari - can not wait to drive!!
